Eutelsat Communications, a global satellite operator, has teamed up with RCS Ghana, a local satellite communication service, to provide direct-to-home TV content in Ghana and beyond. The partnership is a multi-year contract deal that will see RCS Ghana use their Ku-Band band capacity with EUTELSAT 7B when broadcasting a free-to-air collection of DTH standard and high definition channels to their customers.

The new arrangement will allow RCS Ghana to access the highly converted 7° East neighborhood that favors regional TV channels. Currently, over 500 channels already broadcast from that position which is a favorable spot for the Subsaharan region.

Ghanaians and many across the region are ecstatic over the new announcement as they will have access to a lot more television content. Besides, there will be consistent coverage and steady signal transmission.

Hamza Tanko, CEO and Chairman of RCS Ghana, expressed they are “delighted to partner” with Eutelsat 7B. He was also upbeat over their expectation of “consistent coverage” and “signal power” throughout Ghana and the rest of SubSaharan Africa.

Regional Vice President Eutelsat of Eutelsat, Nicolas Baravalle, expressed their position as “proud to support RCS Ghana” He hoped for a “long and fruitful collaboration.”

Eutelsat Communications began way back in 1977 but now boasts a large fleet of satellites and the accompanying ground infrastructure. This helps clients to interact across Data, Video, Fixed, Mobile Broadband, and Government. The satellites support several media houses who showcase over 7,000 channels that broadcast to a billion people annually.
