TechInAfrica – The third edition of Facebook Accelerator London program is currently open for applications and will be the first time for African startups. The program is designed for startups from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMA) that have created impactful scale at using artificial intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Blockchain, amongst others.
The program will be launched in November and held for 12 weeks that includes practical workshops in product, engineering, growth, impact, as well as mentorship. Furthermore, selected startups will get access to knowledge and expertise from Facebook’s staff.
“Innovation is at the heart of Facebook and today we are opening up our London accelerator program to Africa. The selected start-ups will gain access to experts from across Facebook including those working in AR, blockchain and AI. We hope that through this programme we can help nurture a new cohort of businesses that make a positive impact on the world,” said Nicola Mendelsohn, VP of Facebook for EMEA.
Selected startups will get mentorship from Facebook’s Product Managers, Data Scientists, Marketers, Recruitment Specialists, and Engineers. In additions, Facebook Connectivity will also support startups that bring faster, cheaper, and better connectivity, and internet services to the communities across the African continent.
The program is hosted in Facebook London’s office in collaboration with Founders Forum Group’s digital agency.
