Flex Finance raises pre-seed funding to expand offering

Flex Financea Nigeria fintech startup has raised a six-figure pre-seed round. On Linkedin, Flex Finance describes itself as an app that helps free business owners and Africans with the stress of spending management. Through the Flex platform, businesses can digitize their daily operations through a simple and accessible solution. The round drew participation from Sahil Lavingia (Gumroad CEO), Berrywood Capital, LoftyInc Capital Management, Kairos Angels, Maneesh Arora, Julian Shapiro, Brett Kopf, and others.

Formed in 2019, Flex Finance is led by Yemi Olulana, the CEO. The fintech startup was one of the six startups that participated in the 2020 Catalyst Fund where participants received $100,000 in non-equity grants. This programme targets emerging markets but also provides customized venture building support and finance that propels early-stage growth. Earlier on, Yemi Olulana had pitched and won $100,000 at a demo event held by Washington DC-based seed-stage investment initiative – Accion venture lab.

Speaking to TechCabal in an article, Flex Finance’s CEO revealed that their mobile app went live in April 2020. The spend management platform was launched in March 2021 and has thus far onboarded hundreds of businesses. You can download Flex Finance here.
