Flutterwave partners with Currencycloud to accelerate EU and US expansion drive

Africa fintech unicorn and payment technology company Flutterwave has partnered with Currencycloud, a global payments platform built on smart technology that simplifies the movement of money in today’s multi-currency world. The new partnership looks to accelerate Flutterwave’s expansion into the European and US markets.

The partnership will ensure Flutterwave’s services to customers are enhanced when it comes to receiving money through unique virtual accounts. Currencycloud’s partnership will ensure Flutterwave merchants reap seamless and quick access to money transfers at a significant scale within their own convenience. The partnership will also help merchants access or receive payments through channels other than debit cards, which provide more options for merchants worldwide.

Founder and CEO of Flutterwave Olugbenga Agboola describes the partnership as an ongoing commitment to creating a payments infrastructure linking the world to Africa. The shared value of simplified payments accompanied with the speed of launch in a new market leverages Currencycloud API offering several reasons for their partnership.

VP of Sales & GM of North America David Heitzmann described Currencycloud’s goal as a way to “ reimagine the way money flows around the world.” Currencycloud’s API has been incorporated into the  Flutterwave solution making it available to both existing and new customers.

It’s worth noting that Currencycloud has processed over $100bn to over 180 countries since 2012 by working with financial institutions, banks, and other fintech worldwide. Among the partners, Currencycloud works with are Dwolla, Visa, GPS, and Mambu in its efforts to deliver simple yet clear cross-border solutions for its clients.
