Ghana picks Netdragon to offer online learning to 9 million students

NetDragon Websoft Holdings Limited is an internationally renowned internet community builder, specialized in the online education and gaming industry. On November 9, the company’s subsidiary Edmodo was picked by Ghana’s ministry of education as an exclusive online learning platform for the country’s K12 education system.

Founded in 2008 as a subsidiary of NetDragon, Edmodo is one of the leading global online communities with an ability to reach over 30,000 public and private schools across Ghana. The platform has hosted 9.3 million students and over 450,000 teachers. This is a huge step of progress for NetDragon as it offers education technology solutions along the Belt and Road countries.

What about Edmodo?

Edmodo is an online learning platform for all teachers and learners, and a strong digital learning initiative of the Ghanian ministry of education. The all-in-one solution offers hybrid learning opportunities for users. Edmodo’s platform has several accounts for teachers, students, parents, ad admins.

Users can benefit from backend analytics, education games, and classroom collaborations. Recognition by Ghana’s ministry of education was a validation of the quality of learning. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana’s minister of education described Edmodo as an online portal serving different school levels where parents, teachers, and students can come together at the click of a button. 

NetDragon has been on an international expansion campaign on the Belt and Road African countries with the need for top-quality education resources. This partnership with Edmodo comes after Egypt’s Ministry of Education picked it as an online learning platform for its K12  education system. A large scale rollout is expected in other African countries.
