Leading Ghanian fintech expressPay rolls out a Quick Response (QR) Code (myQR) to add to its cashless payment services. Merchants on expressPay can enable cashless transactions using myQR product.

During the launch, Curtis Vanderpuije, expressPay’s CEO said, “The silver-lining with COVID-19 is that it has illustrated the use of digital services for payments and myQR serves a great need at this time.”

The platform remains open for anyone with a mobile money wallet or bank account to make or receive payments without physically interacting with another. Users can set up the QR Code to make or receive payments within 60 seconds.

Individual or business users can log into  www.myqr.express and generate a custom QR which is then physically displayed at their premises or on social media. To make an instant purchase, the customer scans the QR code using the payment app /USSD interface. Once the QR is scanned, the money is paid instantly. The merchant will receive a notification indicating successful payment.
