TechInAfrica – Google Company is out to help the African tech entrepreneurs and designers through its mentorship programs. The software company launched unique merchandise in November 2017 with the aim of improving African technology startup and came up with another outstanding African tech.
The merchandise include Google Launched and Google Play South Africa which will be based in all the African countries. They are targeted at helping in budding and experience tech to the entrepreneurs and designers access to Google brain trust that is to assist them in idea developments.
Google Launchpad was launched on 13th November 2017 in Lagos Nigeria’s capital. Its primary role will be interacting with tech entrepreneurs and give support and software tools to help in the building long-term business ideas in the whole Africa. The Lagos launch is the first unique operation to be opened away from the US.
Applications for mentorship are open to tech startup entrepreneurs with much investment obtained from Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Ghana. Every expense is to be catered for to those who will be shortlisted by the company. It will be a three months training with more than $3million cash to be given to the participants. There will be access to Silicon Valley tech business forums for more than three years.
Google has been monitoring the growth of African tech business for a period and now the time had matured for them to build a cordial business relationship. The fact that Africa is currently growing up technology wise and at the same time the business environment is becoming favorable daily Africa stands out as an ideal tech hub.
Google has already made inroads into the African market, and the best example is the startup Jumo set up in South Africa. The technology is aimed at offering financial services to the new demands. A two-week camp aimed at building the business and development tools which would include its use of mobile financial services easier and accurate was held in Califonia the Google headquarter in July 2017. The company managed to receive funding of a total of $50000 from the mentorship and support.
