The GreenHouse Lab Accelerator Opens Registration for African Female-led Startups

TechInAfrica – The GreenHouse Lab Accelerator is a Lagos-based accelerator program run by GreenHouse Capital in collaboration with Google Launchpad. It is currently opening registration for early-stage female-led African tech startups. It’s a three-month accelerator program, aiming at female-led tech startups and tech startups with innovative solutions that tackle problems facing women.

Startups that want to apply for the program must be based in AfricGreenHouse Lab Acceleratora or run by Africans overseas who develop scalable products for the African market. The curriculum of the program is delivered by Google mentors and industry experts.

The selected startups will get benefits from the program, including access to a global network of mentors and investors, and the opportunity to work from the Vibranium Valley tech hub. Eligible startups will each receive an investment of $100,000 and additional potential investments from other investors during the program.

Who eligible to apply?

Here are the criteria to participate in the three-month accelerator program:

  • Early-stage startup with at least a female member in the founding or leadership team.
  • Proven to have a critical need in Africa and develop an effective, sustainable, and scalable solution
  • Have at least two members of the team that include one technical member
  • Have developed, at least, a beta-product and in the process of refining a go-to-market strategy, building out sales channels, and generating revenue
  • Have a high commitment to building their company dreams

Selected startups must commit at least two employees to participate in the program for three days a week in Lagos.

The program is already open for registration. It will start on August 18 and end on November 14, 2019. Each startup will have to pitch their solution in front of key entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, and institutions from the global tech ecosystem.
