Hello Tomorrow Ghana will host the 2018 edition of the Hello Tomorrow African finals. The event will take place in November 2018 at the University of Ghana Lagon. It will bring together tech startups across Africa to compete for a place at the international competition that will be in Paris in 2019. Hello Tomorrow Global is a newly launched local center of an organization that is non-profit. It seeks to bring out the potential of deep techs to bring solutions to the global challenges. It aims to do that by highlighting, empowering and linking most promising deeptech entrepreneurs globally. It will also offer a platform for deeptech and scientists entrepreneurs across Africa to showcase their business ideas to various judges and possible investors.
The winners will then compete at the Hello Global Challenge in March 2019. Dr. Riverson Oppong who is the ambassador of Hello Tomorrow Ghana disclosed the information at the launch of African regional Deeptech Summit and Competition and Hello Tomorrow Ghana at the Asheshi University on 6th July 2018. He said that Hello Ghana Tomorrow will support the progress and development of the current deeptech startups. He said that in reference to the recent reports on scientific milestones. According to him, the vision is not hard that they have dedicated themselves to assist the current ecosystems, existing incubators to operate and help develop the existing businesses and startups that are facing challenges.
The launch worked under the theme ‘Unlocking Disruptive and Revolutionary deeptech Innovations from Africa to the World. It included a presentation on how Africans can use deeptech innovation for the development of socio-economy. Stephanie Divjak, the Hello Tomorrow Global’s international hub manager, said that more than 4,000 applications are forwarded from more than 110 countries each year. She encouraged deeptech entrepreneurs to participate in the event since it offers them the platform of connecting with potential investors. She added that connections are what makes the Hello Tomorrow Challenge outstanding. The event is bringing together over 3,000 individuals giving participants a chance to link with industrial leaders and get recognized by potential investors and accelerators.
The event’s key speakers included Vincent Agyei-Yeboah CEO of OR Systems, Zeenatu Suglo Adams CEO of Pneuma Food Scientifics, Vanessa Aisha Liman 2018 winner of the Presidential Pitch, and Virgile Satje the deputy economic head at the Ghanaian French Embassy.
