Huawei Kenya is inviting applicants to its Seeds for the Future Sky program, specifically targeting ICT students in University. 60 lucky participants will continue with the program virtually. Shortlisted students will cover the latest technologies from 5G, Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, Chinese culture, and leadership skills.
The Seeds for the Future program was the first CSR programme by the Chinese telecom giant, launched back in 2014 with the intent of developing local ICT talent, improve knowledge sharing and enhancing interest. The program is part of the MOUs agreed by Huawei and the ICT Authority in 2014. Huawei Kenya was where the program made its debut in Africa.
The program stands out from local internships given direct access to Huawei online tutors and exposure to the latest technologies. Students gain hands-on experience, view live demonstrations on ICT technology and engage in discussions with Huawei experts on how to join the national and global Seeds network.
Since the programs’ inception, over 121 Kenyan students have directly benefited from two-month Huawei internships offered at the Huawei offices. The top 47 performers traveled to China for training on the Chinese language, culture, and technology at Huawei’s global headquarters.
The application is open for undergraduate students and closes on August 29.
