HUAWEI offers safe, contactless digital payment options with the launch of Mondia Pay targeting MEA region

Huawei’s cooperates with digital payment platform Mondia Pay to offer a Direct Carrier Billing service targeting seamless and contactless payments for users within the MEA area.

Mondia Pay is a leader in digital payments providing simple, fast, and secured channels for customers to make mobile phone payments. Huawei has strategically worked its way into a partnership with MEA region’s largest fintech company, to help developers across the region. This new drive will increase DCB coverage and other IAP kit capabilities faced by global developers.

Huawei and Honor are currently present in 20 countries, i.e Egypt, Nigeria, Botswana, Liberia, Tanzania, South Africa, Madagascar, and Tunisia whose citizens can make cashless payments through the use of secure banking cards. All that’s required is a download of the Huawei application from the App store and AppGallery. MondiaPay also plans to market Huawei games in Egypt.

According to the world bank, mobile phone subscribers across Africa have quadrupled since 2010. For most customers, this is the only way they can go online. Most credit cards have low penetration rates, this includes the contactless online payment solutions in their effort to reach a wider audience that consumes digital content.

In a share of statements on the same Simon Rahmann, the CEO of Mondia Pay expressed, “This new partnership with Huawei is an endorsement of Mondia Pay’s industry expertise and deep routed knowledge of Africa. Customers across the continent will benefit from our fully integrated digital payment technology to make frictionless payments in a fast, safe, and secure manner.

Mondia Pay allows for contactless payment without the need for bank cards in a safe and secure manner that protects the privacy of users.
