TechInAfrica – Huawei recently announced the global version of its search engine, Petal Search to more than 170 countries and regions, and that South Africa has been now included among the countries.
The search engine is available in more than 50 languages, allowing the user to search for apps, news, images, and others.
The system uses AI to enable a visual search feature that lets the user search through taken pictures or saved images in the gallery. The technology can identify any objects due to its intuitive image and object recognition feature.
For South Africans, they will receive personalized search results based on the most searched local queries.
Huawei plans to include plant identification in the visual search feature for future updates.
