Johannesburg-based Carscan, a South African automotive technology company has received an undisclosed sum from Kalon Venture Partners and IDF Capital alongside an unnamed investor.

Carscan is an augmented reality app embedded with Artificial Intelligence that gives an immersive experience that creates accurate and reliable agnostics that can trace the digital records of any car.

Carscan helps the automotive ecosystem buy, sell, rent, service, finance, insure, and auction their vehicles thereby eliminating any possibility of fraud, governance issues, or any other industry risks.

Users can extract vital details on any car within minutes, expediting the insurance claim process from weeks to minutes – all from the digital platform. This saves a great deal of time and frustration that the industry is currently accustomed to.

Carscan’s founders are Chander Prakash and Obins Choudhary, who both identified gaps in the automotive industry. Carscan technology has a wide variety of case uses, the current focus is on buying and selling, insurance, finance, auction, and other car rental options.
