Innovators and startup founders rush to meet the deadline for High 5s Startup Challenge since it is February 23, 2018. The competition welcomes all innovators from Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi. However, for innovators to participate, they must have products or services which have gained market traction. Besides, their innovations must provide solutions to gender inequality in the region. Furthermore, the innovators must explain the effect of their solutions the panel.
Moreover, startups that would like to participate in the event must be operational and have a clear sustainable business. Those startups which offer products and services in line with sustainable food production, mobility, agribusiness, industrialization, energy production and distribution should utilize this opportunity.
The Applications for the challenge was opened on February 6, 2018, and it is an initiative of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW).
Those startups from outside Kenya will have accommodation arranged for them by the event organizers. The top 5 startups will get $1000 and their traveling costs will be catered for by the AfDB and NIW.
