Israel partners with KTDA to host Konza Innovation Challenge

The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KTDA) has partnered with the Israeli embassy in Kenya to organize an innovation challenge to meets all technological needs of the new “Silicon Savanah” named Konza.

This is the “Konza Innovation Challenge” specifically targeting innovations that utilize technology in fueling the futuristic city’s smart ambitions. The MD at KoTDA Eng. John Tanui said that the challenge will give an opportunity for innovators across Kenya and Israel to solve the prevailing short and long-term needs of Konza such as intelligent management of assets, intelligent access control, intelligent parking management, and intelligent traffic management solutions. It will also serve to deepen Kenya-Israeli collaboration. 

Winners of the challenge will pilot their solutions in Konza, after which they will be adopted for use. Those who do not make it to the final will get hosted through the national data hosting center and have their digital applications taken up by an accelerator program working closely with KoTDA.

The deadline for applications to the Konza Innovation Challenge 2021 has been extended to 12 March 2021. As per requirements, submissions must include written proposals accompanied by a -min video.
