Kenya fintech Pesapal gets CBK authorization for its payment gateway services

The Central Bank of Kenya has given Pesapal Limited to forge ahead as a Payment Service Provider (PSP) and carry out  Payment Gateway Services that are in compliance with National Payment System Act 2011 and the NPS Regulations 2014.

Pesapal looks to democratize payments across Kenya by offering affordable, innovative, and custom payment solutions. Founded in 2019, the company provides a simple, secure, and easy-to-use way for merchants and consumers to accept or make payments across Kenya and the rest of Africa at large. Mark Mwongela is Pesapal’s CEO.

Pesapal’s payment gateway services support the payment processing of mobile money, mobile banking, and cards. Pesapal earlier launched a mobile app.
