The huge success of the Finnovation Africa Series event in Uganda and Ethiopia has prompted its organizers to enter Kenya and South Africa. The expansion of the event takes effect this year 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya on May 31 and in Johannesburg on June, 6.
Finnovation Africa Series powered by FinTech brings together telecom service-providers, payments service-providers, and financial institutions. The stakeholders focus on transforming Africa for the better through payment technologies boosting financial inclusion and developing payment-related enterprises. In attendance at last year’s event, which was the first in the series, were FinTech pioneers, bankers, investors, thought leaders, and policymakers from across Africa.
The two upcoming events in Kenya and South Africa will feature startups including Collaborate2Accelerate, Inside the Investor’s Mind, Founder’s PainPoints, the Wolves’ Den among other the emerging. On stage for interviews will be FinTech innovators from across the globe.
The organizers seek to look into how they’d capitalize on the FinTech revolution in filling the gap of financial inclusion and deepening in a bid of strengthening strategic economic priorities and making a positive, profitable difference in Africa.
Participants of Finnovation Africa share innovative ideas in resolving fundamental problems including lack of access to global financial markets and lack of access to electricity. With the rise in mobile phone users, FinTech seeks solutions on how the high populace of Africans who were previously unbanked can access low-cost financial services.
