iflix is the most popular broadcasting platform in Asia. Besides Asia, it also operates in Indonesia Singapore and Malaysia. The system offers content oriented to the Asia media market. In addition to the native content, the platform avails cartoons, live sports, Nollywood and Hollywood contents for viewership.
Kwese has managed to acquire SVoD (Subscription Video on Demand) from iflix platform. The negotiation was facilitated by prior relationship between the two companies.
The deal is expected to bring more content to Kwese platform since SVoD attracts millions of Asian subscribers.
According to Strive Masiyiwa, the Econet Group Founder, the partnership will help to transform the media sector in Africa. He added that both companies share mutual innovative and entrepreneurship traits. These qualities alongside understanding subscribers’ culture will improve media performance in the continent. The association will further aid in leading the movement for transformation, evolution, and mobility of media platforms in Africa.
Techzim Report showed that the deal will foster Kwese commitment in offering premium contents. The projected contents will originate from leading sports, latest in entertainment, unrivaled TV programming and up-to-the-minute news. The adoption of SVoD will provide users with diverse viewing experiences geared to meet the needs of Africa subscribers.
