Share

TechInAfrica – California-based Lambda School is looking for African students in Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, and South Africa who want to learn software engineering. In partnership with Paystack, Lambda School offers an intensive 9-month software development training program, allowing students to learn coding programs like JavaScript, Python, and C+ from the basics.

Students can enroll in the school without an initial tuition deposit. However, they have to pay back a percentage of their income once they get a job. So far, the school already has more than 1,300 graduates with 86% of them already get jobs.

Speaking about Paystack, it is a Nigerian fintech firm providing co-working spaces. Its partnership with Lambda School will allow students to access the co-working space with reliable internet services and electricity. Moreover, all students will have the opportunity to work with Paystack or Paystack merchants. Interestingly, those who get hired by Paystack don’t have to pay back the percentage because Paystack will cover it all.

Nevertheless, those who will be working for another company will be paid back 10% of their income 5 years in a roll. This will be applied only if they have income more than $50,000 a year. For those who don’t get employed or don’t earn that much of income, they are not required to pay at all.
