Africa’s improving online media and culture scene is getting much attention from the US. The private equity and media giants from the US are attracted by the African growth in the media and culture. Trace has sold much of its shares to many US companies. The companies include TPG Growth, Evolution Media, TPG, and Creative Artists Agency.

TRACE is a South African multimedia entertainment company.  The company has followers of 200 million viewers and listeners in 160 countries. This has made it become the media giant in Sub-Saharan Africa. It owns and runs 30 digital and mobile services. It also owns and operates 21 pay TV channels and seven FM radio stations. The company runs many programs. The programs include 400 concerts, talent search competitions, and web simulcasts. This has made it reach more viewers in Africa and globally.

TRACE was previously owned by Millennium Technology Group. The group will be selling its shares because of the regulatory approval. Trace owns many properties under its name. Some of the properties include TRACE Play. TRACE Play runs live TV, radio and most liked programming on mobile, desktop and via OTT services. The OTT services include Amazon and Roku. It also runs a mobile virtual network in South Africa known as TRACE Mobile. The company has targeted television channels within Western and Eastern Africa regions.

TPG Group is a global investor that is known for its ability to grow and scale businesses. Through the partnership, TRACE is confident of attaining its goals. TRACE targets to be number one in the global afro-urban digital entertainment group. TRACE made some of the important steps in the industry in 2017. The world’s largest technology firms believe that their future growth lies in Africa. TPG is now investing more money in Africa. Facebook is improving its services to suit the young African population. TPG has managed to support five investments in Africa. The investments include Frontier Car Group and a global agricultural data business.
