Share

TechInAfrica – Namibian mobile ride-hailing app, LEFA, through its Founder and Managing Director, Melkies Ausiku, has announced a partnership with PayToday, a mobile payment solutions provider. The announcement was made yesterday, aiming at providing an option to LEFA users to use PayToday for their safe and secure ride.

With its service, LEFA has connected users to shuttle and cab drivers in and around Windhoek via its mobile app. The mobile app was launched in February last year. The partnership with PayToday will allow LEFA users to pay drivers directly from their smartphones. It will address the “having no cash” issue.

Users who want to use LEFA and pay with PayToday mobile payment app simply just need to download the LEFA and the PayToday apps.

“Using LEFA as a safe and convenient way of getting to your destination has taken off, with more than 2000 people per month using the service and growing. By partnering with PayToday we can offer an even better and more customer-friendly technology/mobile phone driven transport experience. Cashless payments are the future across the world and with PayToday as a partner we can now offer it right here in Namibia. Something that we are very proud of,” said Ausiku.

Commenting on the partnership with LEFA, Co-Founder and CEO of PayToday, Chris Botha, said “We are excited to partner with fellow local entrepreneur Melkies who shares our passion for technology and innovation. As a pioneer in the mobile payment space in Namibia, this partnership is fully aligned with our vision of making payments easier in every situation.”

Both LEFA and PayToday apps are available for download on Google Play Store and App Store. To use the service, users/passengers need to register themselves in the app by adding a valid phone number and email address. Once they are registered, they are able to request a ride from their confirmed drivers. The app also allows users to rate the driver to help LEFAimprove its service delivery.
