Lightbulb Education, SA startup offers learning management systems to users

LightBulb, an Edtech and Elearning platform is an African-based learning management system working to solve the growing desire for quality education and training solutions to its online users.

Users can enhance their learning experience on the platform as it packs engaging material and content such as quizzes, puzzles, etc. The platform runs as a Software as a Service (Saas) giving customers customized white-labeled and fully managed mobile learning capabilities.

According to Disrupt, most African countries lack the skills required to set up and manage their learning management systems. Thus far, LightBulb has 6 B2B clients with over 1800 users. The current B2C offering has 7,300 users.

In 2018, Lightbulb raised US$76,000 in pre-seed funding and keeps recording strong revenue growth from license fees and user subscriptions. Lightbulb currently operates in South Africa and has plans of expanding regionwide.
