Nigeria healthtech MDaaS Global has completed a $2.3million seed extension round led by Newtown Partners through the Imperia Fund, alongside participation from FINCA Ventures, CRI Foundation, Future Africa, Techstars, and others. This funding will help the company launch ‘SentinelX’, a digital health membership championing preventative personalized care using proprietary technology.
MDaaS Global was founded by Oluwasoga Oni, Opeyemi Ologun, Genevieve Barnard Oni, and Joseph McCord in 2017. With the recent capital injection, the startup is now in a strong position to scale its physical footprint throughout Nigeria. Since its inception, MDaaS Global has offered critical diagnostic services to underserved and geographically challenged communities. SentinelX operates an annual subscription service of $7 a month.
In April 2019, MDaas Global secured $1 million in equity investment funding. Cumulatively to date, the startup has raised $3.7m in funding.
During the announcement, MDaaS Global CEO, Oluwasoga Oni, pointed out that the pandemic has forced us to consider smart ways of offering proactive care.
