Leading MENA online food and grocery delivery technology platform Talabat has appointed Mohamed Sekkina as the General Manager for Talabat Mart Egypt. Sekkina now has a proven track record of experience that has enabled him to lead the company’s launch in Oman and Egypt in 2020 – including the head of business operations in the UAE before becoming its interim Country Manager over the past 5 to 6 months.

Sekkina looks to provide an unparalleled grocery delivery experience while supporting geographic expansion plans while enhancing dark stores to meet the demand for new and existing customers. Sekkina, the General Manager of Talabat Mart commented on the appointment by saying, “Our overarching strategy is to develop Talabat Mart’s service to provide consumers with a seamless experience.” He further added, “We aim for Talabat Mart to become an incubator and supporter for all local businesses.”

Talabat Mart has an assortment of 5,000 products and the company is looking to increase this number to 8000 products, particularly under the fresh produce category. Sekkina mentioned that the process of selecting products by pickers in this dark store does not exceed 2 minutes. Talabat Mart operates in Mansoura, Cairo, Alexandria, and Tanta. In the coming few months, there are expansion plans for Port Said, Ismailia, and Zagazig. The company further plans to double the number of its dark stores by next year.
