TechInAfrica – MTN has just launched MusicTime!, a streaming service on Simfy Africa. Simfy Africa is a local music streaming service that has just been acquired by MTN last month. It has over 42 million music titles provided in its catalog.
The new-launched music streaming service, MusicTime! is a full time-based streaming music service that offers its users premium trending as well as local music in partnerships with key music labels as well as providers.
MTN claims that MusicTime! is revolutionary in Africa’s music industry through its inclusive music streaming service. Also included in the service are a countdown timer, top-trending music and the price data.
MusicTime! offers 120 minutes for R5 or 300 minutes for R10. These offerings are effective for 7 days started after purchasing. For prepaid customers, they are able to purchase music time at an affordable price using airtime, while all new users are given 60 minutes free applied on MusicTime! App download which also valid for 7 days.
MusicTime! can be used both by OS users and iOS users. The catalog provides millions of tracks with a transparent system. Furthermore, it doesn’t require a subscription so that users can listen to songs or music they want without additional or hidden data costs, interruptions, as well as annoying advertisements.
“We have worked hard in getting this breakthrough model to our customers. Data costs and the high costs of the top end music streaming products mean that the majority of our customers don’t have an affordable option for digital music and Simfy Africa came with the solution we were looking for,” said Jacqui O’Sullivan, the Executive for Corporate Affairs of MTN South Africa.
“The way MusicTime! works mean our customers can be amongst the first to listen to premium local and international tracks from the latest albums as they launch globally for only R5, with data included,” O’Sullivan concluded.
