TechInAfrica – The Nairobi-based startup Kune has raised a USD 1 Mn pre-seed round led by Launch Africa Ventures, a pan-African venture capital firm, followed by Century Oak Capital GmbH and Consonance and Pariti, an ecosystem management firm.
The startup will launch its on-demand food service in August, with the tagline ‘solving the lack of quality affordable meals in Kenya’.
As quoted from Vc4a’s website, it has delivered 500 meals for a starter project, secured an agreement with Carrefour to deliver to their 7 retails across Nairobi, raised 130K$ from Bonduelle Factory Director, Untapped General Partner, Bamboo Capital Investment Manager, secured land for its food factory in central Nairobi, and assembled a winning theme (Head Chef from NAS Servair, CPO from Tropical Heat, CMO from Scan Group, COO from Glovo).
