New CEO for MTN Nigeria

TechInAfrica –  Karl Toriola is selected to be the new CEO for MTN Group of MTN Nigeria. Previously, Toriola was Vice President for MTN Group’s West and Central Africa (WECA) region. This appointment will be effective on March 1st, 2021. 

The role of MTN Nigeria CEO’s will be taken from Ferdi Moolman shortly. The former CEO has assisted MTN Nigeria for the past five years with distinction in his role. Ferdi Moolman will return to South Africa and have a new task to become the Group Chief Risk Officer. 

Toriola graduated with a BSc Hons in Electronic and Electrical Engineering as well as an MSc degree in Communication Systems. Toriola has shown his ability as the Vice President of MTN’s WECA region. He has managed the stable progress of the companies in the region for five years. Particularly,  at the turnaround of MTN Ivory Coast and MTN Cameroon over the past two years. 

MTN Group President and CEO, Ralph Mupita said that Karl presents the extensive technical and commercial experience for MTN, as well as the profound apprehension of the Nigeria market to the role. Also, Karl began his career at MTN in his home country 14 years ago, MTN Nigeria. Karl has all the requirements that are important to lead and improve MTN into the future.
