Tix Africa as a Self-service ticketing startup has received a 6-figure pre-seed round which will be channeled towards scaling its event app. The company also plans to expand to Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, and Egypt during the 2nd half of 2020.
In a press share, Tix Africa discloses that the funds raised will also go towards expanding it’s development team, revamping the mobile app, and the launch of a recurring subscription-based service, Tix Pro. This new round was led by HoaQ alongside participation from Ire Aderinokun, and other angel investors.
Tix, whose founders are Nosa Oyegun and Folayemi Agusto, launched the beta for its platform in 2019. The idea behind the startup drew inspiration from the successful yet highly disorganized #EatDrinkFestival.
With it’s first version, users could only buy tickets and organizers could only list an event. Today organizers can create and monetize a live online event, receive payment via Paystack, and much more.
We just closed a six-figure pre seed funding. 🥳
We are so excited as this means that we can continue in our work to make event management simpler and for everyone as well as expand in Africa.🚀
