Nigerian born Tope Awotana’s US-based Scheduling Startup Calendly raises $350M

Calendly, is a US-based cloud scheduling startup founded by Tope Awotana. The Atlanta-based startup is now valued at $3 billion after raising $350 million. This round was led by OpenView Venture Partners, one of their existing investors and an expansion-stage company based in Boston. This round also witnessed participation from  Iconiq Capital based in San Francisco.

This investment will provide liquidity to early shareholders and employees and involve product innovation. Two new senior executives will join at the end of 2020. According to Techcrunch, Calendly has over 10 million monthly users has raised $70 million in subscription revenues last year. Thus far they had only raised $550K.

Calendly has invested greatly in the meeting life cycle while remaining as a software-as-a-service offering functionality.
