TechInAfrica – In an attempt to lay the 5G foundation in Kenya, Nokia and Airtel Kenya have signed a three-year deal agreement. Both companies aim to modernize Nairobi with a high speed of 4G and 5G-ready hardware.
Starting in June, the deployment of the 5G network will address hundreds of sites and include upgrading existing 2G, 3G, and 4G radio access network (RAN) coverage. The areas include urban, semi-urban, highways, tourist spots, and central business districts in Nairobi and the rest of Kenya.
Airtel Kenya also has many options to smooth the transition to 5G when necessary that has been provided by Nokia’s future-proofed network infrastructure. The updated network will convey improved network to clients of Airtel Kenya and admittance to new, high-speed data services.
According to P. D. Sarma, CEO of Airtel Kenya, the company is in the middle of bringing out the network to encourage coverage along with the modernization of Airtel Kenya’s data network. It will help the company to deliver improved, high-speed data services to its customers. It will permit its clients seamless coverage, upgrading their browsing experience further.
“We are excited to partner with Nokia on this project. Its technology portfolio improves our network quality considerably and also allows us to move to 5G services in the future,” he added.
This partnership is also a delightful agreement in an exciting market. Nokia is proud to help Airtel Kenya with its complete AirScale portfolio and support the company with its endeavors to convey the ideal network connectivity to end-users in Kenya. In a developing business sector, Nokie anticipates helping Airtel to carry out its plans in the present moment just as it showed it the way to 5G services, according to Rajiv Aggarwal, Head of CEWA Market Unit at Nokia.
