The Partnership Between Alten Africa and Inspired Evolution

Alten Energías Renovables is an international solar IPP and PV developer. It has a vast of experience in the field. The firm aims at expanding its capacity in sub-Saharan Africa. The firm has operated in southern Europe, Latin America, and Africa. In both regions, it came out with a good reputation. This has helped it in winning projects in a competitive public-private auction scene. This makes the firm an important player in sub-Saharan Africa.

Alten Energías Renovables signed a partnership agreement with Inspired Evolution. The partnership will see the later investing a total of $36m in the firm. Alten will use the investment in improving on its solar PV advancement initiative in the region. Alten Africa gives Evolution II Fund investment opportunities in 225 MWp of construction. The projects are advanced and ready in three of the firm’s preferred countries. Inspired Evolution, on the other hand, gives Alten Africa a number of goodies. This includes important investment colleague with an experienced group. Moreover, it comes with strong regional market know-how. It also has a record of offering clean energy infrastructure investment of 913 MW.

Initially, the partnership aimed at bringing 500 MW PV projects into action. By now three projects are in advanced stage. One is the 125 MWp Middle Band Solar One Project in Nigeria. This has an agreement to buy power and its almost coming to an end. The second one is the construction-ready Hardap Project, a 45.45 MWp solar PV project. The project is located near Mariental in Namibia.  The project is ongoing and will come to financial completion in February 2018. The third project is the 51.5 MWp Kesses 1 Project found in Kenya. The project is in its last phase and will be over by May 2018.

The previous working records of the two companies helped in facilitating the partnership. The good working environment put across by the two is reflected in their projects in Namibia, Nigeria, and Kenya. Moreover, the move will help in placing the region on a different energy scale globally.
