Paymee, a Tunisian startup gets up to six digits in funding raising round

Share

Paymee, a financial technology company that offers digital payment gateway, has successfully concluded a funding round with a total amount in the six figures, with P1 Ventures serving as the principal investor.

The company plans to increase the scope of its business offerings and accelerate the rate of product development using the funds it has raised.

The firm focuses on delivering solutions for accepting card-based online payments and digitizing various payment procedures. Any website or mobile application can implement its solution. Even if the company does not have a website, it can still provide payment links to its customers.

Marwen Amamou, who founded Paymee shared his thoughts: “This money will aid our desire to strengthen the product and attract fresh talent. We have a solid reputation thanks to the efficiency and transparency of our payment solutions, but then we’d need to establish ourselves as the dominant player in the Tunisian market. Addressing our customers’ needs and improving their operations’ efficiency are the primary focuses of the research and development projects we are working on.

Paymee is an industry leader in providing cutting-edge payment solutions to businesses, facilitating the acceptance of digital payments and contributing to increased revenue.

Additionally, it announced the creation of a QR Code that can serve as a replacement for POS terminals. The  QR Code has a static image but the amount may be changed.

P1 Ventures is a VC firm that primarily invests in early-stage African financial technology companies. Paymee’s ability to become a partner of reference for global brands such as Shopify, thereby enabling Tunisian shops to accept payments online, has left us satisfied with its product quality. Mikael Hajjar, General Partner of P1 Ventures, offered his thoughts on the matter.

Additionally, Marwen is a very ambitious and tough businesswoman who constantly comes up with unique innovations such as QR Codes. These are an excellent replacement for cash-on-delivery companies like Aramex that do shipping and delivery.
