Rose of Sharon Foundation was founded by Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija.  The organization aimed at empowering widows and orphans in Nigeria. The 2018 event took place at Yaba College Technology, in Lagos. It offered training for almost two hours. The training included processed black soap making for skin improvement and making fancy. Individuals were also trained in making a wig, processing shea butter for export and making perfume. Around 230 orphans and widowers were trained in the different vacation skills.  Yomi Otunbela Foundation founder, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Alausa founder of Foundation were among the dignitaries who attended the event.

In 2017 the program trained individuals on employment skills and how to get jobs. Furthermore, it trained them on the basic components of writing a Curriculum Vitae (CV). The 2018 edition aimed at equipping the youths with vocational skills. The skills would act as an alternative to the white collar jobs. This is the best way of preparing the youths for entrepreneurship. There are a lot of people with entrepreneurship skills globally than compared to African countries. This has hindered the development of many African countries.

Africa as a continent has got a vast of resources. Such resources can be well used in the continent’s development.  The African countries need to fully embrace opportunities that come their way.  Many Africans are not yet employed. This is because they fail to identify the readily available opportunities and maximize them. This is why the empowerment programs are essential in the growth of individuals.

Youths need to work hard and be more focused for them to be successful.  The foundation will organize forums to educate youths on business management and various issues. This will help them to improve and nature the skills that they got from the organization. Youths should get above their present circumstances and achieve their goals.  This is according to Mrs. Yemi Adenuga the founder of Sheroes Global alternative job.

Young people should focus most on providing solutions rather than prioritizing money. Many youths do not achieve their dreams due to too much quest for money. Furthermore, youths should have an alternative source of income. Youths should work against all odds and follow their passion. This is according to Ambassador Utchay Odims the Project Director National Youth Summit Nigeria.
