AURA, South Africa’s security response platform has announced plans to expand to the United Kingdom. As part of its security response services, AURA will support and complement the UK’s response network where it aims to attract 1000’s of users using the company’s services in a month. AURA’s technology platform gives access to vetted private security and medical response units from any given location using a connected device.
In January 2020, AURA closed a $420,000 follow-on funding round led by SA Investment firm HAVAÍC. The startup provides on-demand geographically-varying security responses from an aggregated collection of the top independent armed reaction companies. In March 2021, AURA also launched operations in Kenya as part of an international expansion. It sealed a partnership with KK Security to offer emergency medical response services in Mombasa and Nairobi.
AURA CEO Warren Myers, pointed out how AURA will focus on the existing user gaps on the platform given the country’s policeing and emergency services remain excellent. The country’s long term vision is to create a safe world for everyone. Craig Eliasov, the newly appointed General Manager for the UK hailed the innovative technology behind AURA pointing out the value it will add to the general public.
