Ambani wins top prize at the I’M IN Accelerator supported by IDF Capital. The edtech platform competed against 9 of Africa’s Most Innovative Tech Startups offering game-changing technologies in a tussle for the R250,000 cash prize presented during the virtual demo day held on Friday, July 30.
The 3rd cohort at the I’M IN Accelerator was looking to touch on some of Africa’s problems while offering unique solutions in big data, agritech mobility, edtech, e-commerce, IoT, Vsaas, marketplace, and enterprise vertical industries.
The 10-month intensive cohort was subjected to business skills training, workshops, masterclasses, market linkages, business mentorship, coaching, and commercialization support. Also on offer is a seed convertible note of R1.5 million.

RSA Made an online platform promoting South African manufactured products online, Ambani an African language content platform, Kurai an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle platform, Paisa, a company focussed on intelligent security systems, occupational health and safety, and other fields, fixxr a webApp matching post-warranty car owners with experienced and reliable mechanics, cARscan an augmented reality-based mobile app assisting vehicle record their car condition, Linkage – an integrated cloud-based digital platform, Notam – an enterprise end-to-end data platform, and Lula – a platform connecting corporate commuters to private shuttles.
Ambani
Ambani is an edtech platform founded by Mukundi Lambani and offers early childhood learning and relies on augmented reality to make education more interactive and fun. Ambani’s prime focus is on B2C/B2B2C model for transactions.
Ambani app offers books that can be purchased that can come to life in the AR alongside series, songs, and learning songs that offer tutoring classes for African languages. Ambani is available in six languages, Tshivenda, isiZulu, Setswana, Sepedi, isiXhosa, and English.
