On Friday, 14 October, South Africa’s payments and digital commerce ecosystem leaders will assemble for the inaugural Scale Summit. The event, hosted by payments fintech startup Stitch, will focus on optimizing money mobility for long-term growth.
The Scale Summit will be held in Cape Town at The Capital 15 on Orange, organizers announced just now.
The summit will feature expert panelists from across the country’s fintech, payments, and retail space, an early-stage B2B fintech showcase, and a workshop on open banking innovation hosted by Capitec. It will be hosted in partnership with bill and payments aggregator Pay@, identity verification KYC, and user onboarding firm Smile Identity.
We’re excited to have our first Scale Summit and bring together some of the people making decisions about the future of digital commerce and payments in South Africa. Speakers join us with a wealth of knowledge about what it takes to improve payments to unlock better revenue and margins for businesses at scale.” Stitch’s head of marketing and communications, Thea Sokolowski, stated
As online businesses grow, accepting payments, sending payouts, and moving money across borders become increasingly crucial for increasing reach and revenue, lowering costs, keeping customers, growing faster, and beating out the competition.
The topics to be discussed include are:
- Improving the efficiency of payments and payouts can allow online businesses to expand more quickly.
- Getting more sales and more repeat customers in online shopping
- reducing fraud in online payments;
- How collaboration can help to improve the payment experience
The event will also have workshops on how to improve open banking and payments, as well as a deep dive into the use cases for the digital payment innovations that are growing the fastest, such as one-click checkout, Instant EFT payments, and seamless payouts.
Immediately following the panel talks, an early-stage startup showcase will begin, during which several early-stage B2B financial startups will exhibit their solutions. Participants include but are not limited to the Sava, 6DOT50, Zoie Health, and Paymenow.
The event is free to attend. However, there are only a certain number of spots available.
Participants who are interested in attending can apply here.
