Seaside Startup Summit to Take Place in Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah’s Incubation and Accelerator Unit and the Startup Armenia Foundation have jointly organized Seaside Startup summit at the UAE. The summit will be held at Ras Al Khaimah from 8th to 12th February 2018. HH Sheikh Saud bin Sadr Al Qasim who is a Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah promised to support the summit. Furthermore, he and government representatives and ministers from the country will be present during the summit.

The summit will bring together Armenian innovators and entrepreneurs that use traditional formats. Moreover, the summit will bring entrepreneurs, startups, and investors together to instil in them a long-lasting relationship. It also aims at instilling a mechanical business card swapping. The process is not available in the country but it takes place in other places. Furthermore, the summit is organized in a form of a tented camp that is located around the sea.

The summit is using Ras Al Khaimah as their first venue. However, the summit will later be taken to Singapore and Goa. Furthermore, the entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to show innovative business solutions. Besides, they will have an opportunity to talk with networking sites and decision makers. They will also have a chance to get funding. The visitors to attend the meeting might be above 1,500 from North Africa, Middle East, Europe, and Russia, Us, Armenia and other countries.

Startups from different countries will take part in the competition. The winners will take $50,000. The winner will also take part in matchmaking sessions with investors and develop campfire pitches for funding. The five-day summit will include programs like brand battles, campfire talks. Networking sessions and workshops will also be available. The summit which took place in 2016 for the first time in Armenia received an overwhelming support. However, the 2018 summit has become much wider. This is because the number of participants has increased from the previous years.  The event sponsors are Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development, RAK PSD, RAKEZ and  Al Marjan Island.
