TechInAfrica – According to Salesforce, the company will take over the workplace chat application, known as Slack, for $27.7 billion transactions.

Salesforce, the cloud-based software company, mentions that by the terms of the agreement, Slack shareholders will receive $26.79 in cash and 0.0776 shares of Salesforce common stock for each Slack share. It is representing an enterprise value of approximately $27.7 billion based on the closing price of Salesforce’s common stock on November 30, 2020.

The Verge reported that during the global pandemic, both companies, Salesforce and Slack became more vital since worldwide enterprises have changed into remote working and moved a large portion of their businesses online.

Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce, says that CEO of Slack, Stewart Butterfield, and his team have constructed one of the most beloved platforms in enterprise software history, with an incredible ecosystem around it. He added that Salesforce and Slack aim to create advanced enterprise software and change the way everyone works in the all-digital, work-from-anywhere world. The Salesforce CEO is excited to greet Slack to the Salesforce Ohana once the transaction ends.

According to Stewart Butterfield, Salesforce has started cloud modification. Two decades later, Slack is still using all the opportunities offered by the company to change the way Slack works.

“As software plays a more and more critical role in the performance of every organization, we share a vision of reduced complexity, increased power and flexibility, and ultimately a greater degree of alignment and organizational agility. I believe this is the most strategic combination in the history of software, and I can’t wait to get going,” says Stewart.
