Share

TechInAfrica – Standard Chartered, a multinational banking company that offers international services related to the fields of finance, broadens its operational region to select nations of Africa. Serving as a framework for Africa to manifest its digital innovation, the world-renowned British bank will be available in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Previously in 2018, Standard Chartered had also expanded its bases of operations in Ivory Coast—continued by the launch of digital banking platforms on Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Kenya during the first quarter of the year.

Customers—that applies to large-scale companies and individual clients—of the bank will be able to benefit from fast, convenient banking and finance services provided by Standard Chartered. Seeing that African countries are now developing further and further in terms of technology development, this expansion could only bring such progress in a better direction. Services like e-commerce and internet banking pose as two of the main key pillars in building a better tech scene in Africa where demands are growing unprecedentedly.

Along with another plan to launch their digital platform to Nigeria on September later this year, Standard Chartered has also introduced us to their new SC Keyboard. This innovative tool allows consumers and users alike to reap the benefits of the bank’s offered financial services without having to open the banking application on their electronic devices. Making real-time transfers while you’re messaging your friend or shopping online—or even any related activities, for that matter—was fervently made possible through the SC Keyboard. This plugin is able to serve as a great alternative to your everyday, mundane phone keyboard to make your basic banking endeavors faster than ever.
