Startups in the finals of the 2020 AppsAfrica Awards

The finalists of the AppsAfrica.com Innovation Awards 2020 are finally here. At the sixth edition of the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards, mobile applications and technology are celebrated across the continent as they showcase innovations across 12 different categories. The awards are open to corporates, startups, and established venture firms offering their services in the Africa market.

Here are the finalists according to respective categories:

Agri & FoodTech Award

Best African App

ForKeeps, Carry1st, Naked Insurance   and Karri Payments from South Africa, Elimu from Tanzania, and ZamaniWeb from Nigeria.

Social Impact

Mastercard Girls4Tech Connect and Setech Ghana; Envisionit Deep AI and Vodacom South Africa, and Natal Cares from Nigeria.

Mobility Award

Sigma Associates Limited and Amitruck from Kenya, Tetranologie Mobility from Namibia, and Plentywaka from Nigeria.

eCommerce Award

HoBeei Freecycling, Pricepally, One Kiosk Africa, from Nigeria, Sokowatch from Kenya, and  Vodabucks from South Africa.

EdTech Award

Trend Solar & Ubongo Learning and Mzizi from Kenya/Tanzania, Qataloog from Nigeria, Xhuma in South Africa, and BeBlocky, inc. from Ethiopia.

FinTech Award

Franc, Shyft Forex, and Truzo from South Africa, Social Lender from Nigeria, and Beyonic from Uganda.

Disruptive Innovation Award

54gene and Kobo360 from Nigeria, Saada Tech from Kenya,  Instant Vitals, and Envisionit Deep AI  from South Africa.

Cybersecurity Award

Sendmarc and Snode from South Africa, Intore Security Lab from Rwanda, and App Detonator from Ethiopia.

HealthTech Award

Telecom26 and SystemOne, Envisionit Deep AI from South Africa/UK/USA. 54gene Nigeria, and  Wekebere in Uganda.

Media & Entertainment

Koncept TV, M-Tunes from Tanzania, myFanPark from South Africa,  Addis Meznagna from Ethiopia, and Africa Science Focus from Kenya.

Blockchain Award

Luno from UK/South Africa, Seso Global and Prosolutions Ltd from Nigeria, and Leaf Global Fintech from London.

The winners of this year’s round will be invited to Kigali for the  4th Africa Tech Summit Kigali 2021 where they will mingle with top tech leaders, corporates, investors, and other startups. Applications in mobile technology ventures are highly encouraged.
