SureRemit, a Nigerian startup launched an Initial coin offering (ICO) which will help in getting money for blockchain based remittance service. ICO will help customers globally who have Remit tokens to buy digital vouchers which can be redeemed for services and goods directly from local shopkeepers at their preferred locations.
The cryptocurrency eliminates the cash layer, reduces the cost of transfers and gives the sender little control and visibility on how the value is spent. At times it is so hectic to do an international money transaction especially is a large amount of cash is involved, and that’s not how it should be. It, therefore, makes it easier to transfer value using a non-cash transfer system.
In many cases, many travelers and immigrants wish to pay bills for people back at home. The ICOS makes it easier in that it is more secure and less expensive since there are no cash transactions at any stage. Remit tokens in collaboration with Stellar tech help to access online shopping receipts, utility bill payments and mobile airtime services via the SureRemit application.
The platform is already possessing more than 500 redemption points of main retail chains within the SureGifts founder’s ecosystem all over Africa with collaboration to have more merchant collaborators in India and Middle-East in the pipeline for 2018. On 8th December 2017, SureRemit launched ICO presale to help it in financing its projects. The project is aimed at helping the whole world not only Africa.
