Mobike Technology Limited is set to launch an environment-friendly bike in Nairobi Kenya. This comes at a time when most roads in the Kenyan capital are facing severe congestion and traffics. The bicycle will help in reducing the congestion in the roads and save on time spend in traffics. The bicycles which are tubeless, durable, and can last for four years without maintenance helps in reducing air pollution which is brought by the burning gas from vehicles.
The bicycle can be shared via smartphone apps and is convenient for short distances within the town. The bicycle is made in such a way that it has a sim card and GPS which helps in telling where the bicycle is and the last time it was at a specific place. Both the sim card and GPS helps in securing the bike since one cannot be used before it’s unlocked. The parking space is saved because a space that is occupied by one car can accommodate ten bicycles.
After the ride, the users are supposed to return the bike to a specific Mobike place or any regular bike parking area. It’s now upon the city leadership to construct more bicycle lanes and get the data. The bike gives the Nairobi county another revenue generating an idea. The bikes are already in 200 towns in 12 countries at a total of 8million. Countries like the United States, Germany, China, Italy and much more are already enjoying the benefits that come with the bicycle.
