The Office of Innovation and Technology of the Lagos State government will organize the second edition of the ‘Art of Technology Lagos 2.0.’ This event is in line with its SMART City agenda of transforming the city into a 21st-century economy. The event will bring together the best tech minds from across the globe to participate physically and virtually from the 3rd to the 4th of December 2020.
In December 2019, the N250 million tech fund was launched to fund Lagos’ SMART city agenda from a partnership between the Eko Innovation Centre (EIC) and the Lagos state government. N100 of the fund has already been disbursed to the Lagos State Science, Research and Innovation Council. Lagos 1.0 was a success and drew in over 2,000 participants.
Themed AOT Lagos 2.0 ‘Smart Data, SMARTER Lagos’ will accommodate multi-stakeholder discussions, collaborations, and exchanges along the value chain as an enabler. This year’s conference will draw in 60 speakers, 50 investors, and 35 experience centers. The event is sponsored by Access Bank alongside the International Finance Corporation, Lagos Innovates, Y Combinator, Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, and Oracle.
During the event, Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo will deliver a presidential address dubbed, “Lagos, Driving a Smarter and Efficient Nigeria” while the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Dr. Isah Ali Pantami will give her speech on “Nigeria in the eyes of the world: The data approach.”
