TechInAfrica – Travelstart won an award for a best mobile shopping experience at PriceCheck Tech & E-commerce Awards on September 4, 2018.
Travelstart, a South African E-commerce won an award at the Tech & E-commerce Award. The process of selection was through a public voting stage and judges.
Pia Spratley as Travelstart’s Head of Product once said in an interview that they were thrilled to receive the award. As it is already an old news, she said that E-commerce business is very important nowadays, thus, they have focused for their improvement for these 2 years. She also added that knowing their users’ needs had always been a priority for the company to create and improve the website and the app, Flapp.
Flapp, the app that company has developed enables its users to book flights, rent cars, and manage bookings in a simpler way. It has been downloaded by over than 860,000 users and categorized as one of the top free travel apps on Google Play and Apple Stores. The numbers of Flapp users—international or local—keep on growing bigger along with the increase of smartphones users. Judging by the fact, it also indicates the increase of customers trusts in experiencing the app.
