Statistics show that thousands of people are switching to new phones every day. Some get new SIM cards, or they start a new journey in the phone world. It is possible that people can lose their contacts, have blank call logs and even lost their data.  Truecaller has been helping people to identify their first-time callers. The company saw the need for improving the app much more.

The company announced the launch of Truecaller Backup for Android on 15th January 2018. The feature will help users to backup, and restore their contacts. This includes restoring block list, call history, and settings to Google Drive.  Truecaller users have been on the great need of the app worldwide. The app will make users transition to a new phone or SIM card more simplified. The contacts and settings will be backed-up and stored on the Google Drive. This will offer a holistic solution to the user.

Users will back up the frequency of their calls. The backup can be between daily, weekly, monthly and during the demand. The upgrade helps the recovery of any lost data from Google Drive. Truecaller can restore the data to its last saved state. The app allows users to search for contacts that they have not saved their details. But they have communicated to them before. The contact viewing has all the contacts a user has communicated with on text or call. It makes it easier for users to recall and communicate with temporary contracts. It’s not a must for one to save the contacts. It hence makes it more secured.

The backup file used to be available to only Google Drive users. Plans are there to expand the options to other backup stored in the coming future. One is now required to create a Google Drive account since it’s a necessity. Truecaller is on the verge of making Africa the priority. They also want to increase their presence across Africa. They are planning to locate their headquarters in Africa. They also want to scout for the key workforce for their operations.

More than 250 million globally are using various apps like Truecaller. The use can be to see their caller IDs and know whoever is calling them. It’s not a must for one to save in their phonebook. One can block calls or SMS they need to.
