TechInAfrica — The co-founder and CEO of social media service, Twitter, and mobile payment company, Square, Jack Dorsey just arrived in Nigeria.

Last month Jack Dorsey announced that he will be spending November in Africa.

Arriving with other Twitter executives, Dorsey will be in Africa for the whole of November to meet with local entrepreneurs on the continent.

As Dorsey posted a tweet last month regarding his visit to Africa, he said that he will visit several countries such as Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa during his time in the continent.

In the tweet is a picture of the billionaire with Ethiopian entrepreneurs, Noel Daniel of venture capital firm, Kudu Ventures, and Getnet Aseffa and Betelhem Dessie, from artificial intelligence research and development company, iCog Labs.

Dorsey said he was going to meet Nigerian entrepreneurs during his visit and he uses his time well for that.

Yesterday, he has met with renowned personalities such as Tayo Oviosu, Victor Asemota, ‘Bosun Tijani, Onyeka Akumah, Dr. Joe Abbah, Dayo Koleowo, Akin Oyebode, Debo Odulana, and Odun Eweniyi.

Though Dorsey has been spotted at CcHub offices in Nigeria, he has not granted any official media interviews yet. Media people were also supposed to speak with him.

According to a trusted source, he will visit the offices of Nairametrics, a Nigerian business media platform, later.

At this point, Dorsey’s itinerary and the purpose of his visit is not exactly clear, but it is believed that the reason behind him coming to Nigeria is to introduce Square, another platform he co-founded, to entrepreneurs and the African market.

Square is best recognized for its disruptive card payment technology but in recent times, the company seems to be eyeing on cryptocurrencies.

As Dorsey happens to also be a crypto enthusiast, Square also seems to be putting for a bitcoin invasion. There is an opportunity that he will also be connecting with the Nigerian crypto community.
