The College of Education Centre for Continuing Education and Training at The University of South Africa (UNISA) has partnered with Deviare, a digital skills development firm to upskill both professionals and students in short learning programmes and bootcamps.

The partnership comes in the form of:

First, an Online Digital Pedagogy course comprised of two learning paths; a workshop-style bootcamp and a short learning programmes that address cloud computing, data engineering, and cybersecurity. It will run for 8 months. Second, a bootcamp in cybersecurity and data engineering expected to run for two months.

Deviare is based in Johannesburg and is founded by Lubabalo Dyantyi and Baxolile Mabinya. The company helps organizations build their digital transformation capacities through digital skills training, targeted advisory, and technological solutions.

In 2010, UNISA revived the  Centre for Continuing Education and Training with the intent of becoming the top innovation center for in-service teacher training in South Africa.

In the past five years, UNISA has offered quality in-class and community-based educational training programmes which are client-tailored. This promotes networking and collaboration among communities, teachers, provincial and national departments, businesses, top interested parties, and other stakeholders.
