“VC4A Venture: Bridging African Innovation and Entrepreneurial Vision with Investor Networks”

Share

VC4A is excited to announce the call for applications for the VC4A Venture Showcase Africa – 2023, a yearly accelerator program highlighting high-growth, high-impact ventures driving economic growth across the continent.

The Showcase gives African founders of innovative and disruptive startups and scale-ups making money and looking to raise their Seed or Series A round the chance to show off their businesses to the busiest investors on the continent.

Since it started in 2017, the VC4A Venture Showcase Africa has helped its graduates raise over $630 million. This shows how successful the program is at encouraging African entrepreneurship and innovation.

This year, VC4A is excited to work with Work in Progress and the African European Digital Innovation Bridge, or AEDIB|NET, backed by the EU Horizon 2020 program.

PThrough VC4A’s relationship with AEDIB|NET, we hope to offer four themed tracks, including Series A and Seed fundraising and Climate Smart Agriculture, Smart Cities, Digital Trade, and Clean Tech. AEDIB|NET’s primary goal is to help African startups with innovative ideas in one of the 11 countries where they have set up themed tracks.

Abu Cassim, who is in charge of the acceleration team at VC4A, talks about how this program is different. “The amount of investor participation makes the VC4A Venture Showcase Africa program so valuable. Investors recommend startups, choose the best companies, give masterclasses, and put together the final pitch. So, during the whole process, buyers can see the participating companies.”

We’re excited to call other partners to join us who share our goals and want to help improve entrepreneurship in Africa. Working together, we can give African entrepreneurs more chances to show off their businesses and meet potential funders and business partners.
