TechInAfrica – In their own ways to contribute to the continent’s agriculture-related endeavors, African governments have established various policies and initiatives in crafting a steadfast foundation to facilitate farmers and agronomists alike. Namely the Maputo Declaration and their consent regarding Africa’s Agenda 2063. However, people of the rural region—especially small-time farmers—needs a specifically-designed solution. This is where Village Capital comes in. Their goal is to raise productivity, attain sustainable food security, establish and strengthen links to markets, as well as generating a more abundant job ecosystem and development in local economies.
Now, Village Capital announces this year’s Agriculture Africa, supported by companies such as Ceniarth and Small Foundation. As an accelerator for startups reigning in the fields of agriculture and consumable commodities, Village Capital selects twelve startups and/or businesses to participate in Agriculture Africa 2019. In the events, they will be introduced to solving agricultural-related problems by novel technological measures. Additionally, entrepreneurs will also be acquainted with business plans in which they will implement it in leveraging their own businesses.
