Vodacom is the largest communication company in Africa. The company has entered into Rwanda market with intention of transforming agricultural sector, health, and education. Vodacom Rwanda market expansion strategy via Axiom Networks will help in data collection for appropriate planning by esteem clients. The company officials last Thursday held a fruitful meeting with 36 customers from Axiom Network.
The company currently focuses on service expansion through building networks and data sets between government and non-governmental institutions.
Rwanda market expects to receive education services such as tracking students or pupils’ attendance in schools. The system will aid in determining the number of students present and those who are absent on a daily basis. Besides students’ attendance, the initiative will assist the institutions to implement policies or to adjust accordingly. Additionally, the agribusiness sector will obtain information relating to inputs suppliers, market trends, price levels and weather patterns.
According to the Chief Technology Officer at Axiom Networks, Hamis Shema, the company began Rwanda market implementation since last year. The three years data center investment plan will start by building a neutral data center in the country. He added that data centers constitute of national data and client-based data. The company is looking forward to launching the first phase of the project come last quarter of this year. The system will work in line with the ‘Internet of Things services’ for both governmental and corporate organizations. Furthermore, the project will also provide business to the telecommunication via cloud data storage for clients. The two main clients are Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) and Non-governmental organization.
During the meeting, the Care International Officials expressed their concern for good data collection services to improve service delivery. RRA officially on the other hands required tailor made package which will enable the institution to collect more taxes.
